During the month of May, Juan González Moreno is honored as Entrepreneur of the Year by the Association of Mexican Companies in the United States. 

GRUMA celebrates its 65^th Anniversary sponsored by “La Casa de la Tierra, Observatorio del planeta”, a space built to create conscience in the population about the importance of the conservation of the planet, through specialized scientific information. 

On June 11, GRUMA announces the purchase of Mexicofoods España, the leading company in the production and marketing of corn and wheat tortilla, fried food and salsas. The sale was settled at 15 million dollars, establishing the presence of GRUMA in Europe and tending to the market in the Iberian Peninsula, the south of France, Italy, Portugal and Malta. 

In September, Juan González Moreno personally supports the people affected by hurricane “Odile”, delivering supplies and financially supporting the tortilla producers of the region so that they could restart the operation of their businesses. In the affected area, there were also 3 tortimobiles operating, which produced over 100,000 hot tortillas per day. 

GRUMA sells its operations of wheat flour in Mexico to Grupo Trimex for a total price 260 dollars approximately, assigning the resources mainly to the debt payment, strengthening the financial structure of the company, focusing on its base businesses, particularly the production of corn flour in Mexico. 

Juan González Moreno places the first stone of the new Factory of GRUMA in Moscow, which shall begin its operations at the end of 2015 and will have the highest food quality and safety standards, producing wheat tortillas, wraps, corn tortilla and corn fried food products.
