“GRUMA PLANS TO INVEST MXN 792 MILLION TO BUILD A NEW SNACK PRODUCTION CENTER IN THE STATE OF PUEBLA AND EXPAND ITS MISSION PLANT”.
Puebla, Puebla, February 27, 2024. Gruma subsidiary Mission Foods México announced its plans to invest MXN 792 million over the next five years to build a new snack production plant and expand its corn and wheat tortilla production plant, which also makes baked and friedtostadas,oven-baked corn crackers, and deep-fried snacks in the State of Puebla.
With the construction of the new Mission corn-based snack production center and the expansion of the tortilla,tostadasand deep-fried snacks plant, the company will have an installed capacity to produce 70,200 tons of products per year, creating 440 direct jobs across the State, 55% of which will be held by women.
In addition, the construction and expansion phases will create close to 110 indirect jobs while the company strengthens its supply chains for wheat flour, corn flour, packaging, and minor ingredients across the State.

Nader Badii González, Managing Director of Mission Foods México, spoke on behalf of Juan González Moreno, President and CEO of Gruma. He thanked the Puebla State Governor, Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina, and the Secretary of the Economy, Jorge Ermilo Barrera Novelo, for easing the process to ensure the implementation of Mission’s growth project in the State.
“In 2016, Mission began its successful incursion into Puebla and has since created more than 500 jobs, of which 60% have been for women. These new construction and expansion projects reaffirm and strengthen Mission México’s productive commitment to the State of Puebla,” said Badii González.
In the center, Puebla Governor Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina and Mission Foods México Managing Director Nader Badii González, when Gruma announced its plans to invest MXN 792 million in the State.
