Subsidiary of GRUMA that manufactures systems of highly volume and highly efficiency for tortillas of corn and wheat.
Through the creation of this subsidiary, Gruma began to design, manufacture and sell machinery for the production of corn tortillas and chips. The creation of this subsidiary was a milestone in our history and allowed our operations to expand to other branches of the industry. It has become a cutting-edge company with its own technology.
Through Tecnomaiz, S.A. de C.V., the Company manufactures machines with an output capacity of 50 to 300 tortillas per minute and processes 40 to 110 kg. of dough per hour. Tecnomaiz also manufactures high volume, high efficiency systems for corn and wheat tortillas, with a production range that goes from 400 to 2,400 units per minute.
The equipment is sold under the TORTEC and RODOTEC brands in Mexico.
In regard to the first patents, Gruma developed several technology designs related to flour mill manufacturing processes. Major technical innovations included storage tanks, through which achieved the uniform cooking of individual grainsregardless of the corn volume they contained.
The great advantage of having proprietary technology has facilitated Gruma's ability to adapt to the requirements of different markets. In 1996 we were able to design and manufacture machines that were even faster and smaller for the preparation of wheat tortillas. In both corn and wheat, we have the two largest lines worldwide which are operating successfully in their facilities in the countries of the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
